The only way our country can really reach a developed country status is if we develop our science and technology capability. This is the only way we can hyperdrive our industrialization. Now, listen to this: Jules Ledesma, the undefeated absentee congressman from Negros Occidental who attended the 14th Congress only once, is going to head the House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology.
And I say:
WTF!
Haissssst!

Why men shouldn't write advice columns
(collected via e-mail)
Dear John,
I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help.
When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom, in our bed, with a neighbour.
I am 32, my husband is 34 and we have been married for twelve years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that he'd been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was laid off from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore.
Can you please help?
Sincerely,
Shiela

Dear Sheila:
A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the jubilee clips holding the vacuum pipes onto the inlet manifold. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber.
I hope this helps.
John

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it.
If you can dream it, you can become it.

Do it!
Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.
The quote was from W. H. Murray in The Scottish Himalaya Expedition

Free hugs campaign
My friends always tell me I am super cheesy and emotional. Just this morning, my siblings asked me to watch the Free hugs campaign video. They told me to be prepared as the video is really touching. They are not kidding. In fact, after watching the video, I know what they told me is an understatement.
This screenshot, the first hug in the video, made me a bit teary eyed. :-D It's probably because of the video itself plus the fact that I really like Sick Puppies, especially this song, All the same.
You might want to watch the video here. Don't take my word for it -- check the stat (60 million views).

too much love will kill you
totoo pala na maari mong ikamatay ang sobrang pagmamahal. kapag ginawa mong sentro ng buhay mo ang isang bagay, at nawala ito sa iyo, pakiramdam mo, katapusan na ng mundo.

Planning to buy a new phone. Help?
OK, I've been suffering (what a big word for my trivial problem) so much from my current phone. The ear piece is just so damaged... and the reception is really dull (and I think it has nothing to do with the network). My original plan is to wait for my lock-in period to lapse so I can have a new phone for free, but when I asked the network's CSR, they told me I can only have a new phone by December. Shucks.
So, I've been spending hours and hours of Internet surfing time to find a new phone to buy, and finally, I got one.
So, 20,000 USD is about a million pesos. Alright, will buy one tomorrow.

White iPhone 4 Diamond Edition surfaces, yours for 20K US dollars
The white version of the iPhone 4 isn't available just yet but its first luxury edition has already surfaced. Covered with a handful of shiny diamonds, only fifty of those will be made so you better hurry up if you want to get one. The black version of the Apple iPhone 4 has been available for a week or two now and already got its exclusive edition thanks to Gresso, but now it's the white one's turn to get the same treatment. The unimaginatively named iPhone 4 Diamond Edition is delivered by luxury designer Stuart Hughes.
The iPhone 4 Diamond Edition frame and its solid platinum Apple logo at the back are encrusted with a total of approximately 6.5 carats of diamonds. Underneath you'll find yet another unlocked iPhone 4 32GB in white.
Along with the phone itself you'll also get a thin ostrich foot leather wallet large enough to accommodate up to 4 credit cards. Only 50 units of the iPhone 4 Diamond Edition will be produced and sold worldwide and each will cost 13 000 GBP (around 20 000 US dollars).
