Not yet.
When I quit my former job last 2007, I was pretty sure I’ll become a millionaire by 2008. But it seems I may have miscalculated some time variables because the year is about to end and I only have a few hundreds in my bank account. But I’m not bitter about this at all because I have come to accept this miscalculations early this year. BUT there is one thing that made me so happy about 2008. And this is the realization of having a new regular job that gave me the longest paid leave since I started working. Hehehe.
You see, the news of having a long vacation this Yuletide season was announced/predicted early last year (2008). So, I told myself, I am going to have a nice regular job before that happens. (I did freelance work for a time… still do.) It will be a two-week paid leave for me! I have been a corporate slave for almost 5 years and te longest break [paid or not] I’ve had is just a week. What a pity… So, I hope you understand why I am so happy to have this break of my life, literally and figuratively.
This 2009, I am hoping many new things and opportunities will unfold itself to me. I’ve been a good kid, you know. :-)
For the material stuff, I only want two things badly. A maserati and/or an Apple laptop.
This, I think, is an old model, but I’m not that choosy.
A black is perfect, but again, not choosy.
The rest are non-material stuff — career development, a happy family, and even stronger ties with my friends.
I’ll probably end this post here as I am starting to feel mushy now. So, here’s a toast for a prosperous and peaceful new year to all of us.
Happy 2009!
